In this blog we will talk about a variety of different tourist attractions in Waterford city and its surrounding areas.
Waterford
Waterford is the oldest city in Ireland and home to the world famous Waterford Crystal. In this lively city there are a variety of shops to suit all tastes a bustling nightlife and various things to see and do to ensure every visitor has a memorable trip. One of the most popular attractions to see while visiting Waterford are the Viking Walls which surround the older part of the city. These walls surround the city and were once used as a defence mechanism by the Vikings to protect themselves against intruders. To compliment this, visitors can also enter Reginalds Tower and experience first-hand what it was like to live in those times.
Another popular attraction to Waterford is The House of Waterford Crystal. Visitors can enter the show room and view and purchase a variety of unique Waterford Crystal Pieces. If they wish guests can also take a factory tour and witness how Waterford Crystal is created. This is a guided tour with each stage described to all visitors by your tour guide. Just a short walk from The House of Waterford Crystal is the new Waterford Treasures Museum which houses a variety of interesting historical pieces that present the rich history of Waterford.
There is much more to see and do in Waterford City and the surrounding county however, Copper Coast is a petting zoo and playground for kids that hosts a variety of animals such as pigs, alpacas, komodo dragons and various other farmyard animals, this is a fantastic day out for families and kids of all ages! Adding to this there are various beaches and family activities that will be sure to leave a positive lasting impression on all who visit this area.
During the summer the streets come alive in Waterford with various summer Festivals such as Spraoi, The Bluegrass Festival in Dunmore East and the eagerly awaited Day Tripper festival which presents acts such as Imelda May, Madness and The Coronas. Waterford is becoming one of Irelands premiere locations for festivals of all types. and New Ross. This ensures our guest have access to fantastic cities and tourist spots!
